Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
A treatment recognized for trauma/ PTSD or other deep-rooted issues which need updating.
EMDR helps clients to unstick memories from the past which are causing problems in the present.
You briefly focus on the distressing memory while doing bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping) helping the brain process the memory properly, reducing the emotional intensity and updating the meaning, so they lose their emotional charge.
We focus on root causes not just coping strategies.
What EMDR helps with:
- Trauma related experiences (accidents, abuse, loss)
- Relationship patterns, strong emotional reactions that feel bigger than the situation.
- Negative beliefs
- Grief (major life changes, loss of a loved one, breakups)
